Jobs Program

Access Guides offers a limited number of jobs for young people with an intellectual disability or cognitive impairment who have completed school.  

Up to two years in duration, the Jobs Program combines structured training and paid employment.  Employment is on a casual basis.  Job roles include:


  • tour safety & preparation

  • learning and relaying site information

  • guiding seniors on walks or drives

  • preparing small to large scale picnic events

  • barista / serving coffee and tea

  • event preparation / arranging catering and picnic supplies

  • customer service

  • conservation projects (eco warrior program) 

All work is supervised and supported by qualified outdoor guides and disability support workers.  

Jobs Program employees spend 3 to 4 days per week in the program.  This involves 10 to 15 hours training each week (program hub or at the tour site), and one day paid work each week. 

Award MA000080 (up to $25.08 per hour plus super)

Training locations:

Geelong Central, Cloverdale and Ballarat Central

Work locations:

Geelong: Eastern Park Precinct

Ballarat: Lake Wendouree and Botanic Gardens

There is no cost to the program.
